Reuse Decommissioned Equipment Instead of Purchasing New
As facilities grow to meet new demands such as product line changes, updates in technology, recipe changes, or new regulations it’s common for equipment to be taken out of use – often cluttering the plant floor and taking up precious space. When this occurs the natural inclination is to scrap the old equipment to make space for new equipment, but what if we told you there was a better way?
Placer Process regularly helps customers reuse old equipment in new processes throughout the plant. In one such example a food and beverage manufacturer had a 500-gallon stainless steel tank with an agitator they had no use for and were considering scrapping. Luckily they called Placer Process where we were able to quickly identify that the tank is in fine shape and could be used in other parts of the facility. Not only did this provide savings from not needing to dispose of the old equipment, but there was no need to purchase a new tank.
Placer Process was able to refurbish the tank and integrate it with a state-of-the-art sweetener and ingredient hydration system. Once again helping our customer meet their project goals.
