Job Summary:
The Business Development Manager (BDM) for the Food and Beverage sector is responsible for identifying new business opportunities, fostering relationships with potential clients, and driving growth within the industry. This role involves developing strategic partnerships, expanding market reach, and managing key accounts to achieve revenue targets and enhance the company’s market position.
Key Responsibilities:
Market Analysis and Strategy Development:
Develop and implement business development strategies and action plans to drive growth and expansion in the food and beverage submarkets.
Conduct market research to identify emerging trends, opportunities, and competitive threats.
Client Acquisition and Relationship Management:
Identify and target potential clients, including wineries, breweries, food and beverage manufacturers, co-packers, alternative food industries, and other emerging industries.
Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with key clients and stakeholders.
Conduct presentations, product demonstrations, and negotiations to secure new business and contracts.
Sales and Revenue Generation:
Develop and manage a sales pipeline to meet or exceed revenue targets.
Collaborate with the sales team to create customized proposals and solutions for clients.
Monitor and report on sales performance, adjusting strategies as needed to achieve goals.
Market and Product Expertise:
Stay informed about industry trends, regulatory changes, and competitive landscape.
Provide insights, feedback, and develop potential marketing insights to the product development team based on market needs and customer feedback.
Qualifications:
Education: Preferred bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field. Experience in the industry is a plus.
Experience: Proven experience in business development or sales within the food and beverage industry.
Skills:
Strong understanding of the food and beverage market and industry dynamics.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated ability to build and maintain client relationships.
Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving business growth.
Ability to analyze market data and develop actionable strategies.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
