Current Positions Available

Process Engineer II (multiple positions available)

Responsible for designing and implementing manufacturing processes, equipment, and plants (from pilot to full operation) to achieve market goals of organizations in food and beverage processing industry. Serves as Team Lead supervising both peers and subordinates on as needed basis for specific projects.  Job duties include: selection of equipment, P&ID development, equipment lists, AutoCAD drawings; implementation of small scale projects including preparation of project scope, budget, proposal, preparation, and support field installation; support for equipment start-up and validation of process systems; develop block flow diagrams, component research, and editing equipment lists; flow modeling; specification of all equipment required by a project; heat transfer calculations; development of shop testing procedures, coordination of shop testing procedures; programming for operator interface terminals and system operations; identify and develop process and equipment needed to produce specific products, assemblies, and installations; perform hydraulic modeling calculations with Fathom software; engineering documentation includes block flow diagrams, bill of materials, piping and instrumentation diagrams, and system operation manuals, support projects from proposal to implementation, including: written project scopes, creation of engineering documentation, standard operating procedure (SOP), engineering design.

Supervision

The following positions report to this position:

0 – 3 Chemical, Mechanical and/or Electrical Engineers (peer)

0 – 1 CAD Engineer (subordinate)

Education and Experience Requirements

B.S. Degree in Biochemical Engineering or Chemical Engineering

2 year experience as a Biochemical Engineer or Chemical Engineer  

Special Requirements

Demonstrated knowledge of and proficiency in the following (may be obtained through academic coursework or project):

  1. Implementing current good manufacturing practice (GMP) and FDA regulations and familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures in the sanitary design field.
  2. P&ID (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams)
  3. AFT Fathom or ASPEN, Autodesk AutoCAD, and Rockwell FTView
  4. Editing of programmable logic controls using Rockwell RXLogix 5000

Skilled Pipe Fitters and Welders

Responsibilities

Applicants must be skilled in fabrication and installation of sanitary process systems and must be available to work in our Rocklin fabrication facility as well as field installation projects at various locations throughout the country.

Position requires:

  • Successful background screening
  • Fitters must have layout / fabrication experience and the ability to work from assembly drawings
  • Welders must be skilled in the TIG welding process and welding procedures involved with sanitary piping systems as well as stainless steel frame and structural fabrication
  • Successful completion of ability and written tests
  • Experience with “Good Manufacturing Practices” in food and beverage production facilities is a plus.

CAD Designer (Rocklin)

Responsibilities

Placer Process Systems, Inc. is a General Engineering Contractor seeking a CAD Designer to provide design support at our office in Rocklin and customers' manufacturing facilities. Work will be focused on food, beverage, and dairy process equipment and supporting utilities. The CAD Designer will assist engineering in the preparation of process P&IDs, assembly drawings, and site layout drawings. Additional duties will include maintaining the CAD library, purchasing, tracking of materials, and support for equipment start-up. Expected travel time will be 30%. Preferred candidates will have an AA/AS Degree in Design Drafting with Mechanical Concentration. Placer Process Systems, Inc. offers competitive compensation and benefit packages.
